My one little word 2013 for february is finish, and by finishing projects and goals in my life, I am inviting all of these images and intentions in, as my vision for the year ahead.

I want to be happy, and indulge in the moment this year with finished goals that are no longer weighing down on me. I want to enjoy the life and home that my hubby and I will create together in our new house. I want to let the world wait awhile, while I take it in all the love and sunshine around me. And most of all, I want to inspire and be inspired all day everyday by being creative.

I’m feeling excited about the possibilities ahead and of creating a life I want to live.

At first, I was a little unsure of what I was to achieve in this monthly prompt. I felt a little lost and unsure of where to start. But now that I have completed it, I feel inspired and uplifted by the positive and beautiful imagery that I have pulled together. I didn’t know what I wanted to achieve or what kind of life I wanted to lead in words, but this vision board shows me exactly what I wanted, in pictures.

This vision board was done on a 12×12 card which will fit into my one little word album.

I really had fun doing this month’s prompt. How are you getting on with yours?

one little word 2013: january

Just finished it! My Jan prompt for my one little word 2013…….

I’m doing Ali’s project in a 12×12 format as it is easier to get albums and papers etc in NZ, I thought it might have looked funny in a different size format, but I actually quite like it. I guess the main difference between doing this version instead of the US letter size is that there is more room to fill so you get away with using a bigger font. I haven’t used Ali’s title page here just because I chose not to, but with her PNG format, it is really easy to change it to fit into a 4 x 4 square on photoshop, if you do decide you would like to try creating the prompt in this format.

Project supplies:

  • Thickers alphabets – Amy Tangerine
  • Chevron paper – Amy Tangerine
  • Kraft & white polka dot washi tape
  • Wooden flourish – Kaiserkraft
  • Kraft 12 x 12 card stock – Francheville
  • Grid card (3 x 4) – Becky Higgins
  • Polka dot 12 x 12 card stock – Bella! Wedding range

I have done the type all in free hand as I didn’t have a font that suited in my stamp set collection.

The hardest part of this month’s prompt was coming up with the 12 intentions, and also deciding what month to put it into. I still don’t know if I have matched up the months to the right intentions, but I guess the main thing is to mentally focus on an intention each month to bring it into my life in one way or another. It will be a fun and interesting journey and I can’t wait to see what Ali’s February prompt is!

my one little word 2013: finish

Last year, my sister-in-law told me about this creative project called one little word and this year I’ve decided that I’m going to take part in it with her.

Find out more here: One Little Word 2010 | Ali Edwards.

You choose a word that inspires you for the new year. A word that you would like to invite into your life as your new personal statement and goal for 2013.

I have chosen the word ‘finish’. As project girl, one of the things that I am very good at is ‘starting’ a million projects that excite me but then will run out of time or forget about them when I move onto the next exciting thing. This year, I’m going to work on not only starting exciting projects, but also ‘finishing’ them.

I have chosen to do it in a 12″x12″ format instead of US letter size as it is easier to get the right size folder and papers etc in NZ. I love the idea of this project because you can embrace the idea in so many different ways. Even if you don’t take part in Ali’s one little word, you can still use this idea to have a word in your life this year that you would like to aspire to everyday. It is a tool to motivate and self reflect.

My January prompt is ‘finish small ideas” with the goals of:

  • Starting a blog
  • Finish my bench seat that was purchased a few years ago

What would your word be? What would you invite into your life this year? How will you capture this? Photos? Journaling? Scrapbooking? Share your word or ideas you may have below, I would love to hear about it!

I will post my January page soon to try and inspire you to take part in this fun journey!
